Per , Wirtz has told Leverkusen that he wants to join Liverpool this summer. The midfielder has agreed on personal terms with the Reds and the English champions have now started to negotiate a transfer fee for the player.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City were also keen on signing Wirtz at one stage, however, reports emerged on Friday that they had pulled out of the transfer race seemingly giving the green light for Liverpool to move in on their target.
